How to book your course
Driving Lesson Booking Call CentreCongratulations, you have now taken the first step towards getting your driving licence. Booking a driving course with your local LDC instructor or obtaining the necessary theory test materials and advice couldn’t be easier. Phone our freephone number 0800 400 777 and either book directly over the telephone or ask our staff to send you out an enrolment form along with your free brochure. Alternatively, submit the information request form(simply click the text for a free brochure and enrolment form). You can then send in your completed enrolment form to the LDC National Booking Office. We accept most credit and debit cards, as well as cheques. We will also accept cash and postal orders but recommend you send them registered post. You can also book directly with your local LDC instructor if you do not wish to benefit from the Customer Care Payment Protection Scheme (see Terms of service for more details). To contact your local LDC instructor direct please click on the button entitled Find your local LDC driving instructor.

Driving Lesson Booking OfficeOnce we receive your booking we will arrange for your local LDC instructor to contact you to organise your driving lessons. If you have already passed your theory test your instructor will usually book your driving test immediately and plan all your lessons with you either by telephone or on their initial visit. Many of the instructors also conduct a free home visit before the course starts to help explain how everything works. Some are even willing to do this before you book so that you can meet them and discuss the various courses available. Feel free to ring them direct to see what they can do for you. If you have not passed your theory test your instructor will organise the first part of your driving course but he or she will have to wait until you have passed the theory test before booking the driving test and the remainder of your driving lessons. In these circumstances your instructor can also help you with your theory test study.

Please note if you have not passed your theory test you will need to allocate about 20 hours of study time to fully prepare for this test. If you purchase any of our theory test materials we will by happy to book your theory test for you. The current charge for this service is £3 plus the actual cost of the test.

Please note, if you have dyslexia or language difficulties a voice-over test can be arranged. The test can also be provided in several different languages.

Once you have booked your driving course and/or Theory Course home study package through the LDC National Booking Office you will be sent written confirmation of your booking along with the relevant materials. If your booking includes driving tuition your confirmation letter will contain the name and contact telephone number for your local LDC instructor. Your instructor will have your details as well and will be contacting you directly to plan your course. However, if you prefer, feel free to contact them on the number provided on your booking confirmation. Once we receive your booking we will organise your local LDC instructor to contact you and arrange your driving lessons. We will also post the LD driving skills workbook and video DVDs if you have booked a course. These materials are for you to keep.

If you have already passed your theory test your LDC instructor will usually immediately book your driving test and plan all your lessons with you either by telephone or on his or her initial visit. If you have not passed the theory test your LDC instructor will only organise the first few lessons of your course. Your LDC instructor would then book the driving test and arrange for the remainder of your course to take place once you had passed the theory test.
